Are there any big dealers at the Market Hall shows any more? I know Bachman and SAW closed..... I went to the Houston Gun Collectors show at NRG in Houston today...... not even one big dealer there........
I assume the days of cheap M855 pull downs are gone..... I use to buy pull downs to reload for $68 per 1000 from my local reloading shop..... they were the cheapest plinkers I could get.... and I shot most of them all up..... I could have been rich if I saved them to resell in today's market :/
I bought a bunch back when it was 7 cents per round.... I was about out when the surplus started running out....so I had to buy more....some at 10 cents...then at 12 cents.... the last case I bought was 16 cents per round and I cringed at the outrageous price..... but at 40 cents plus, I won't...
I'm starting to see 7.62 X 25 surplus ammo for sale again..... but its the same price as brand new PRVI ammo.... over 40 cents per round.... prvi has reloadable boxer primed brass. Is anyone actually buying the surplus ammo when you can get brand new for the same price???
45 Colt is the best for this gun...... especially if you reload to keep your ammo costs down...... I have the new vaquero with birdhead grips. I was really surprised that the kick of the 45 colt round is not as bad as I expected....quite manageable actually.
I just bought one of these too... I was surprised that it doesn't really kick as much as I thought it would.... and it is a point and shoot type feel to it....
my local Academy still has the 2 box limit on the popular calibers..... but I was able to buy 2 bricks of Federal 22 LR Target rounds today.... $17 per brick but these are the 325 round bricks.... they also have American Eagle 22 LR for $2.19 per 50 round box....no bricks of the American Eagle...
I ordered it the third week of March..... it arrived today..... I ordered ammo on the same order.... the ammo arrived late June.....
Range trip and pics this weekend.....
It arrived today! My HRA M1 Garand from the CMP.. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised..... I got a service grade..... and it rated a 1 + on muzzle and 2 on throat.....overall this rifle looks excellent... has some handling dings but not a lot..... obviously it did not see that much actual...
I work for a company that makes and services food equipment..... I never considered using our food grade lubricants on my guns before now..... But I will now.... it makes sense....all the food equipment is stainless steel and needs the ultimate in lubrication.... and food equipment is exposed...
I took my new S&W Shield 40 cal to the range today.... it will definitely be my new carry gun...... it ran flawlessly for the 100 rounds I put through it...... I was amazed at the short smooth and crisp trigger pull......
my question is about the safety on the Shield..... is there a firing...
oh yeah.... Bachman Pawn had C Products 30 round AR15 mags with the orange follower for $15.... not quite back to pre panic pricing but getting there.....
