    Fusion or Dan Wesson

Fusion if you have the extra cash. DW will probably shoot just as good for less though

    Best 1911 for under $1200.

Dan Wesson. They are great. Some models are harder to find than others, but they can be found.

1911 As a First Carry Gun

With a good holster and belt a 5" 1911 conceals quite well, and comfortably. I suggest a Milt Sparks VMII for a holster(IWB), MS for the belt and everything else leather as well. They have a 6 month wait time though. MY Valor is my first carry gun.

    1911 Newb needs help

For a carry 1911 and for the price a Dan Wesson CBOB is going to be very hard to beat. If you can find one they are about 1050.00 for a new one.

Where do you buy inexpensive .45 ammo?

Ive actually been getting lucky and finding it privately on classifieds on forums. Most of the online etailers are out. Natchez had WWB for 31.xx for 100 yesturday. Who knows if there is any left.

I would like some fine Custom Grips for my Ed Brown Kobra Carry 1911 Commander...

I used to be a wood guy. Now Im partial to VZ Gatorbacks in either linen or canvas. They have a great feel to them and give it a "all business" look. Thats what I have on both of my 1911's. For nice wood grips check out www.thefinergrain.com

Getting a first gun is very stressfull!

do you have a range near that allows you to rent pistols. If so I would rent the ones you are interested in and actually see how they shoot.

    Best (not cheapest) 45?

If your looking for a gun to last forever and to hand down to the kids, the choice is obvious. A good 1911. I am a big fan of Dan Wessons. I am having some custom work done to my Valor and will have a bunch of money in it, but that was my choice. IF money is no concern from the get go I...

Does this holster adequately protect trigger on Glock? (pictures inside)

In the pictures, and to me, that does not appear to be a quality holster, nor does it seem like one fit for a Glock. The leather seems "loose" and could easily move from blocking the trigger. I would look at something fitted for your model of glock, and something of quality. I myself am a...

slide rail lubrication: oil vs. grease

Both of my 1911's are pretty tight. With grease they get sluggish. Weaponshield all around for me.

Bought a new CZ 75B today!!

Look for an Uplula loader, they also work wonders for loading mags, much easier and faster than the plastic one they give you.
