Don't worry, they will demonize any one of us the same way. The guy probably had ONE dummy grenade if any at all. And his "reloading room" could have been the basement with one jug of powder and 100 primers. We don't know. I hope if he was a normal guy like most of us he'll be ok and get his...
Deepest sympathies from me and my family. I will pray for you, your son, and your family often. The sacrifice both he and his family has made can never be repaid by a grateful nation but we can offer our support during this terrible time. Please continue to keep us updated, as talking about...
Anyone interested in cooking up things like this on their own may want to check out ammosmith.com in addition to this forum. There are guys that are doing this and have shown some really nice pics and videos.
I have been making my own cast linotype bullets for the 7.92x33 MP44 series of...
The first carry pistol I bought was a Davis Industries 380. What a pos!! I don't know if they make any other firearms, but if they do I sure don't need em.
I just looked at safes yesterday after deciding to get a good one instead of another cheap piece of garbage (homak from Kmart - was around $100 a couple years ago).
Never thought about asking for a mech lock although I did instantly get a bad taste in my mouth when I saw the digital locks...
Smart ass response.... what's a range fee?
Seriously, find someplace that won't charge you to be harassed. I'm sure there are all kinds of nice rules to follow there, limits on speed of shooting, limits on how many rounds you can have loaded up, etc etc. There have to be local gun clubs you...
What do you do with 20 rounds of x39? The only time I ever bought less than a case was the day I picked up my SKS. Went back the next day to a smiling gun shop owner and grabbed a case (made me smile too). IIRC, it was $80 out the door for 1000 rounds then. Do THAT math!

"in this case all you have is the words of a news reporter"
So the feds can do a no-knock raid on the word of an informant but we should reserve our judgement till we have more info than a local reporter, most of whom have actual credibility ? That's a good one.
Give me a break.
You carry the gun for a reason. Second guessing your experience can really mess you up the next time. If you felt threatened enough to take it out, that's good enough for me. Good job (most people forget they even have the weapon with them with the s hits the f).
If he still has a job, and...
After a devastating event, the first thing most people who aren't prepared will do is start raiding anything nearby for food, fuel, and weapons. The local grocery stores and gun shops would exist for maybe a couple hours at most and then be completely stripped by the time most people thought to...
If you guys like stuff like this you need to read Aftermath by Al Steiner. It's only available on the net and be warned it's X rated in some parts. I have it saved in a Word document and have been working to edit out the X rated stuff so I can share it with family. It would make an even...
I know exactly what paperwork is involved with explosives. I am a "licensed possessor" for several mine sites in PA and have helped with paperwork to gain our "manufacturer's" licenses for certain sites as well. A "manufacturer's" license is required when mixing diesel & AN into an fo...

Ammosmith shows how to reload used ones here. Not the same as making new, but this would be a way to do it if production stopped tomorrow. Just pop out an old one and reuse it like the cases.
I too wonder if it could be made...
Joe,
Glad you're ok.
I'm also new to reloading. One thing that terrified me before starting was throwing powder so I bought the RCBS Chargemaster. It's expensive and slow compared to a regular powder throw, but I have the peace of mind knowing that all my charges are identical. I reload...
Update: tonight while eating supper I put 6 .44 magnum shells in the tumbler. After a half hour they looked exactly the same, but felt "smoother". I turned the machine back on, and stuck my hand inside and it felt like they were all sitting at the bottom in the middle and not moving around in...
My grandpa used to make jewelry and doesn't use this tumbler anymore.

(The MT4 is the one I have) It's small but he gave it to me and I was hoping I could use it for pistol brass. I've tried it for about an hour with corn cob media and about a...
