I found this 25 question test on another board. The multiple choice questions seemed fair (covered both sides) and it was giving back pretty good results for those who took the test.

Here's my results:

Interesting test.
my results were,
1. Theoretical Ideal Candidate (100%)
2. Kent McManigal (84%) Click here for info
3. Ron Paul (81%) Click here for info
4. Tom Tancredo (67%)

I like a Paul/Tancredo ticket.
If Ron Paul does not make the primaries I may write in Kent McManigal.

That was pretty neat, and accurate.

I am a little surprised myself about myself.

Absolutely, completely bogus.

Mostly loaded questions, with answers directed at a single candidate. Many questions dealing with candidates, that they have not expressed an opinion about.

I didn't even get more than 54% for any candidate.

I am a little surprised myself about myself.

Don't be. This is a homemade poll, steering folks to bull crap.

Ex.
10. What would be your ideal candidate's position on THE DEFICIT?
*Would raise taxes and/or reduce spending if necessary to reduce the deficit and balance the budget in keeping with the philosophy of the Concord Coalition.
*Would not be concerned with the deficit, in keeping with the philosophy of supply-side economics.
*Neither

Where is the cut spending only?, not the and/or raise taxes, there is a big difference between the two. Cannot be combined. Most questions are similar. Just like most internet polls about favorite color, food, and 'send it to 25 people in the next 3 hours or your mother will have a stroke' type poll.

Oh, and for the 'Paul' folks, where is this question?

If a violent, historically terrorist nation kills our soldiers and plots our destruction (while building nukes), what do you do?

*kick their butt
*surrender at once, and lock yourself in your home while shouting, their is no evil in the world! (a la Ron Paul)

Funny you say that. Maybe you should take a look at those results, Ron Paul isnt doing to bad.

If a violent, historically terrorist nation kills our soldiers

not trying to turn this into a RP thread, but i dont remember any of our soldiers getting killed before we invaded either country, recently...

Maybe, but what candidates are the answers directing us towards?

At the board I found the link on most people were posting their results with various Democrats at the top. Here it seems like the opposite is happening with various Republicans or Libertarians being at the top. Same quiz.

My top 5:
2. Kent McManigal (77%) <---Who?
3. Ron Paul (67%)
4. Dennis Kucinich (60%)
5. Joseph Biden (51%)<---Bleah!
6. Wesley Clark (51%)<---I really like and respect Wes Clark.

My bottom 5:
23. Jim Gilmore (31%)
24. Fred Thompson (30%)<---answers that question.
25. Sam Brownback (29%)

Closest one is two thirds? And who the hell is Kent McManigal? His website says he's not even campaigning anymore. And what a crappy website.

Steak asked,

I also did not see,
If we overthrow an elected lawful government, impose sanctions, and force our ideas on another country, and they object. We should
a. Invade them.
b. Nuke them.
c. Apologize and trade honestly.
d None

???

Though some of those questions were very simplified

For the war question I would like to see and option for fight to win or get out, no more of this middle ground crap.

I went back and re-ran it using the high/low priority for my top-5 issues instead of just default low for everything

Okay...

So Paul scores 87% or lower, even among his most ardent fans. Fred Thompson doesn't garner the highest level agreement from anyone here, but he's generally a lot higher on the scale than a lot of candidates, too.

NO candidate scores 100%, for anyone.

Can we please accept that, when arguing about candidates, that we're talking about 68% vs. 42%, or 80% vs. 50%, or 70% vs. 65%, or whatever?

People talk about a candidate as if he were ALL GOOD, or ALL BAD, when it turns out that even the "all bad" candidate scores twice what his likely opponents in the general election do.

I think that accepting these realities -- nobody agrees 100% with anybody, and next November, there will be some candidate running against some other candidate, and there are levels of agreement and disagreement with both -- would help make such conversations more productive.
