I have a bicentinel ruger 10/22 with a very custom stock. The entire stock is carved with an entire praire style seen as well as tent with a man and his horse. Also on the butt stock there is a an great carving of a dog that states " 1976 North American , HUNTING DOG "BUD", Springer spaniel. Suprisingly the stock is in perfect condition and the rifle functions flawlesly. Im just wondering is this thing special amongst 10/22's? If the stock is custom who is the amazing artist? 1faa843e88be__1261002070000.jpg Cell phone picture

Ruger is well known for putting out commemorative guns for every possible event. I have never seen one but that does not mean much. Your best bet would be to try www.rimfirecentral.com, everything you could ever possibly learn about 1022's will be found there.

It is a very interesting piece. If it is a real commemorative piece it will most likely be worth something, if not, it might be worth more than a factory stock as there are millions of them, especially if it is done nicely.

I am guessing it is walnut.

someone just did that themself; yes ruger did 10.22 with custom stocks, but they were not that personalized. they would do them for a chainstore, or a laser engraving, or a centenial, or something like that. but not for a dude's dog, or use specific names.

I will try to post more detailed pictures this weekend when I get my hands on a good camera.
Yes it is walnut.
