10/22

Do you guys know if anyone makes a part or an attachment that will let you operate a 10/22 like a bolt action...

I'd just buy a bolt gun. Saw a Savage box mag fed at Wallyworld for a bit over a hundred the other day. Bet it's more accurate than the 10/22 and a bolt on a 10/22 ain't gonna fix that. LOL

Some of the time when I am using a suppressor on my 10/22 I place my thumb behind the cocking piece to hold the bolt in place during the shot, makes the rifle quieter. You have to manually charge it after each shot if you do so. Other than that I don't see why you would want to.

The reason is to make it quieter when using a suppressor...was hoping for a control to allow switching between semi auto and manual.

CB longs won't cycle in my 10-22. Maybe you can fine something that's accurate and won't cycle your action.

my brother has a winchester semi auto 22 rifle, its very similar to a model 60 marlin in design, and once he was shooting it and had his thumb in the way of the bolt handle. when he fired, the bolt handle drove backwards hitting the end of his thumb. not only did it bend the bolt handle, but for a short time it epanded his vocabulary terribly, as well as making his thumb useless for a week.

Karate, you sparked my curiosity with this, I've never heard of this and certainly have never seen it before. I am a huge 10/22 fan by the way. Now since my first post I've pretty well exhausted the net and come up with nothing. I still thnk it defeats the purpose of a 10/22, but now I want to see one.....

The recoil from a .22 isn't much. I shot my 22/45 pistol with my thumb holding the bolt closed while trying to diagnose if the stovepipe problems I was having was the extractor or the ejector. Determined it was the extractor.
