I'd have a sign in my yard that read "Kidney for Sale" so fast, it'd make people's heads spin.
Just about spewed grapefruit juice on my iPad when I read that! Thanks for a good belly laugh!!

The 1006 you have is worth some serious coin...The one worth the most is the 1076.
I believe I read that thread as well on the HK forum or on another Google searched site. It looked well done, and while I don't own a USP of any kind, it seems to be the platform for it.
I wish they would build an all steel, no polymer, HK45 like gun specifically for the 10mm auto.
I've had a gen 3 Smith & Wesson auto. I'm not sure why you'd think the GLOCK is better suited for anything. They're as stout as anything out there.
That's fine. HK's aren't for everyone. To me the bore axis is pretty irrelevant. I enjoy shooting all three of my HK's and look forward to my 4th. Glocks feel like crap in my hand.I disagree. I had a USP Tactical 45 for a while. The bore axis was obnoxious and as a result, the pistol had more muzzle flip than any other .45 I've ever shot. The pistol cost twice as much as my Glock but wasn't as reliable or as comfortable to shoot. I was turned off by the whole experience and swore I'd never give another dime to those German uber-snobs. A USP in 10mm would have such a ridiculous amount of muzzle flip I doubt it would be fun or feasible. Only XD I've ever shot was in the same boat--too high of bore axis to comfortably handle even the Short and Weak, let alone a full power 10mm.
I'd like to see CZ offer their P-09 in 10mm Auto. And I handled a Walther PPQ in .45 and 9mm and both of them had the best triggers I've ever felt on a striker gun, absolutely dreamy ergos, and a nice low bore axis that I think would make for an awesome 10mm platform.
Simpler and cheaper than I remember it being. Hmm...
I acquired a new 10mm pistol today - a Glock 20 Gen 4. It makes an interesting contrast with my old 10mm, a Smith & Wesson Model 1006. Polymer versus solid block of steel, striker versus DA/SA, 15-round magazine versus 9... The Smith isn't going anywhere but, despite the reservations I have about Glocks, if you want a big 10mm pistol to carry afield and not worry if it gets dirty or dinged up, a Glock is probably the best way to go. Seems like the old S&W pistols are starting to get into collector territory these days, but I don't think I'll ever have to worry about that with a Glock. Anyway, I guess we'll see how I like this one...
Have a friend who lives in Grizzly country. Few years back he went with a Glock 40...if that's the full sized 10mm, hi cap. He carries it in the woods and around his property in an El Paso 1942 shoulder rig. He did have buffalo bore 180 or 200 gr cast slugs. I think it's a nice option in bear country. FAR more liveable, especially if your mending fence, usinghand tools, etc. Versus my monster Freedom Arms .454 casull, 7.5" in the same shoulder rig.
Glock 40 is the more recently released longslide 10 mm (sort of like a Glock 34) but with a removable plate for a red dot sight like an RMR. Glock 20 is the full sized (15+1) 10 mm. Glock 29 is the "subcompact" (but really more of a compact) (10+1) 10 mm. If it was a few years back, I'm betting your friend had a Glock 20, rather than a Glock 40. A friend of mine was eagerly awaiting the release of the 40 and just finally got a 40 this year after they became available in his area.
