Tested some 120 Gold Dots today in a 6.5 Creedmoor. Speer doesn’t list any data for them in 6.5 Creed. But they seem to work just dandy. 45.5 grains of Staball 6.5, OAL 2.710 at 2,884 FPS. Not too shabby for a bonded soft point bullet! 100 yard 3 shot group 888A0685-0F6F-493B-902F-B8AC26E8BA2E.jpeg

Nice results. I am a big fan of Speer bullets and have been wanting to try the gold dots but they have been hard to find when I have looked for them.

I got them from Midway a few months ago. Just got around to playing with them. I’ll definitely be looking for more after that trip since I stumbled on a bunch of the 6.5 Staball powder recently.

Now that makes more sense. I was wondering how such a lite bullet could be so unstable at those speeds, but I wasn't discounting it either.

Yeah I’m just a tight ass and like the ol cardboard and sharpie for free targets!

Tried several hunting bullets in the 120 - 130 grain range in my 260. These worked the best so far. About one MOA and I can shoot half MOA with a non-hunting load. Got one deer so far. Close range pass through without too much meat damage. I'll race you to the next box available.

I found a little hole in the wall in BFE Arkansas that has 15-20 boxes. I’ll be headed back there this weekend!
