Do these mags (I believe from Ram-line) fit flush into the grip?

Sorta. The base plate on the bottom of the magazine has a kinda step-down to it so the spring goes down a little further.

Mec-Gar made some extra-capacity flush-fit mags for the larger service pistos like the Beretta 92, S&W 5900s and SIG 226. I believe they just redesigned the follower. Capacity was also 17 rounds.

That said... are 15 rounds not enough?

Sometimes these after market mags don't hold the slide back on the last round.......FYI......but they're good for range work........a buddy has a bunch for his Elite....seem to feed ok(of course a Beretta will feed rocks anyway)

PwrTool45....A typical USPSA competition course of fire is limited to 8 shots from any one position, (ie: a four target array,) @ 15 rnds/mag doesn't quite cut it. By bumping up to 17 rnds/mag lets you shoot 2 positions or arrays between reloads. Mucho time saved.

Have those for my Tuarus. Excellent mags. If the ramline 17 rounders are anything like the 17 round eagles i owned, avoid.

If it isn't factory, or Mec-Gar (often the same), avoid until told differently. What good are 2 more rounds in a mag that jams?

I bought the $12 junker mags from Cheaper Than Dirt a few years back (they are USA brand). They are sold as "15 Round" mags and are flush fits, but about half of them hold 16 rounds and a couple hold 17 rounds. Feed fine and lock back 100%. I shoot them all the time with my 92FS.

I think it was CDNN that has the original Beretta 20rder's for sale.

Think they were $120 bucks though.

I'll stick with the 15rder's for the price diff.

Nate? I have one of the ramline mags, I can put eighteen in the mag, and one in the chamber. It does fit flush, no visible difference, and mine has never failed to function. If you can get them, do it, and enjoy. But do not pay too much, factory mags can be found cheap, and fifteen rounds are a lot.

The difference is that they have a "ribbon spring"? The spring is a strap that rolls to the bottom of the mag, instead of an accordion spring that needs space at the bottom. With an empty mag, if you remove the base plate it is empty all the way to the follower, at the top. If you wish, I will try to get some pics, so you can see it.

I had some 17 round Eagle mags - forget where I bought them.

Some had twisted tubes that would not fit in the magwell. The way eagle got twomore was to have a dropped baseplace that was locked in place with screws, a hollow follower instead of the Beretta type, and a weak, thin spring.

I'm fairly sure I sent them all back.

My RAMLINE is flush fitting, but it's 18 rounds, not 17.

FWIW, I have one of those Ram-Line 17-shot wonders, and it is the only mag that has mis-fed in my Beretta 92FS. Maybe the starch has gone out of its ribbon spring or something, but it was always getting at least a couple of rounds per mag stubbing into the frame ramp, just below the chamber mouth at 6:00.

IMO, if you REALLY want 17 rounds in your Beretta, buy some of those Asian military-contract 15-rd mags for $16-20, and upgrade 'em with Pearce +2 extension floorplates and Wolff +10% extra-power magazine springs.

Many moon ago when the Ramline mags were readily available in CA, I bought one for my 92fs & had had for the first time experienced reliability problems w/ my Beretta. I ended up trading it in for a factory mag (w/ added cash of course!). It ain't worth the problmes for just 2 extra rounds!

Used my 17-round flush fit Mec-Gar at the range today. My 92 loves it and so do I!!
