I have a bunch of fmj (158 gr.), hp (125 gr.) and sjhp (158 gr.) .357 magnum. Are any of these types of ammo potentially problematic in a .357 mag lever gun?
Thanks.

First, check the manual and see what the factory says. If you do not have one, a copy can be downloaded from the Marlin website.

Having said that, no round nosed ammunition should be used, as an accidental discharge may occur in the magazine tube. Also, some have had problems with wadcutter and semi-wadcutter bullits, especially with .38 spl. Congrats on a great rifle.

either should work, the heavier will probably be a little more accurate. My hot 125 grainers are barnburners from that little rifle.
