The finishing touches are finally here. I installed a Marbles tang sight on the resurrected '06 Winchester.
It now has new wood, a new re lined barrel, a few new parts and many hours of cleaning etc. The tang sight was purchased for it's aperture function with older eyes (helps to focus on front sight & target) Thus far I'm able to get some fairly good groups at 25 yards. (an Anschutz it is not) with flawless function and a fairly good trigger.
But mainly it is a great fun rifle to shoot. It's only disappointment is that the tube magazine only holds 10 rounds which run out too fast. IMG_1917.JPG

As my old boss ( Les Baer ) would say: "That is the cat's ass, baby!" Which was his way of describing perfection. That is a beautiful display featuring an iconic .22 rifle by Winchester. Good job!!

Came out looking super! Followed your progress with this build and you did it proudly. What does the plaque have on it? Thanks.
.45 Colt; The oak plank has two (and soon to be three) empty .22 LR ammo boxes for Short, Long & Long Rifle.
The label is:
Winchester model of 1906

.22 Rimfire short, long & long rifle

Built early 1919 in New Haven Connecticut

One of many firearms designed by John Moses Browning

These rifles were commonly used in carnival

shooting galleries and also highly prized

as a “boys” rifle by younger shooters.
Thank you for your kind words.
