Yeah, crazy when you can get a Gen 2 LE trade-in that you'd actually shoot for $300! Maybe Gen 1 Tupperware can be worth that to collectors but it's still crazy.

IIRC, the numbers imported for Gen 1 G19s were pretty minuscule, something like <20. The seller may have picked a fortuitous time with Glock popularity at a zenith as CCW and gun ownership continues to grow.

Not something I'd be interested in, but there's a neato factor to it as well.

It has an interesting bidding history.

The first bid was $1k, it took 3 days to get to $2k, 4 more days to get to $4k, and then the big jump to $6.7k. The winner got it a hour later by $25. Pretty good for a LE trade-in that the buyer likely got for around $350

Just goes to show that value is really set by the buyer, not the seller.

It doesn't make any difference what you might think your gun is worth. It is worth what someone will pay for it.

But will he pay????

Did you notice that the winning bidder had ONE previous history transaction??:fire:

What's the chances of this bidder just walking away from this auction that he WON???:uhoh::eek:

Certainly not something I would go that overboard on bidding for! Does kind of make me wonder what my Gen.1 G17 would go for though!

That and a 1200 jump was by a NR person.

Im thinking the seller will not get paid....

Gen 1 G17? Probably around $300-$500 depending on the market (maybd $600 in MA). Since minuscule supply magnifies any existing demand, you can get several thousand for a G19 with only a handful of samples available. The 17, on the other hand, is much more readily available.

Very nice gun though!

Absurd.

There is ZERO chance I would pay that kind of money for a pistol like that. So what it's a Gen1, what is the buyer going to do with it?

Friend of mine bought a first gen G17 for $250. Another friend was given one outright when one of our group found out he didn't have any kind of gun at all.

He now has 1 of only 20 produced...even fewer are still around today. He'll probably sell it a few years down the road for twice what he paid.

I smell a sock puppet. The owner bids his own auction to ridiculous levels to create a buzz. It only costs him the auction fee. You'll probably see one or more gen 1 G19s within the month, all with $800 starts.
