I just got a new to me savage model 10 in 243. Did/do they have a good reputation? The best thing to me was the non detachable magazine. I am loading up some test rounds for it to try out Saturday afternoon if weather holds.

If yours is like mine (2006 model 10FP in .308), your extractor and ejector may be weak. If your unfired round or fired brass slip off of the extractor and rattle around in the ejection port/magazine, don't be surprised. If that happens, simply call Savage, describe the problem and they should send parts to fix it for free. At least, that's what I did and what happened to me. By the way, mine was/is stupid accurate...just that whole weak extraction/ejection issue.

I have a pair of 6 1/4 pound model 10 Sierras. The 300WSM is sub-moa. It shot so well that I ordered a 243. The best it will do is around 1 1/2 moa. Never had a problem with either one.
