I once had a K-Hornet in a Ruger #3 carbine. I parted with it and the dies many years ago.
However, I found that besides reaming the necks, that with some brass, I needed to use an neck expander die, to keep from crushing the cases.
Lee now makes an excellent die for this. They call it a Universal neck expander die, usually used for expanding pistol necks for seating lead bullets, and to a lesser extent, rifles for seating cast bullets.
However, you will find that it will work excellently for the K-Hornet, to allow proper seating. You WILL need to slightly crimp the neck back down onto the bullet to allow proper feeding into the firearm. Be sure not to over do either. Just a slight flair, and just a light touch of the crimp die when seating to return the neck to flat.
Something that will alleviate using the expander die is to use boat-tail bullets. The Nosler 40gr Balistic Tip is probably the best bullet available for the K-Hornet, so should allievate all your problems.
Also, Lyman makes an "M" die, but you will need to get the "SHORT" die body and the .22cal expander punch for it. (I got one many years ago. I also have a "LONG" die body, and numerous punches..... .30, .35, .44, .45), so I can use any combination for various calibers.
I have also used a Lee Universal Powder measure die and the various pistol die -powder through expander plugs to load rifle and pistol cartridges with my Lee Pro-1000 dies, and Load Master presses.
Sometimes it just takes a little creative imagination to solve some of your reloading problems.
You can even take a nail and slighty wiggle-wobble it around in the inside of your case to slightly enlarge the neck to flare it enough to get the bullet to seat. Been there, and done that too! It worked on the occasions I've needed to do it. (.45/70 cases before I got an expander plug for it)
Again, just don't over do it, or your case won't fit in the seater die! If you do, just roll the case with your fingers on the loading bench to take it back down a little.
Good Luck with your K-Hornet.
