.22 LR Shooting Bench

You might want to consider getting a good pole saw (I like Stihl). It really cuts down on the bending and stooping while holding a heavy chainsaw. It also lets you thin out brush without having to walk in amongst the poison ivy, snakes and biting insects.

The pole saw really comes into it's own when you're doing maintenance work on lanes with a lot of up and down to 'em. Instead of felling a whole tree to get rid of future drooping branches that obscure your targets, you can just lop 'em off quick and easy. :D

I have an electric pole saw that works well around the lot. I have a receptacle on the pole near the road and yesterday, used that and another regular electric chainsaws to cut small trees and branches to improve vision coming out of the driveway into the relatively fast traffic on the rural town road. (What (45 mph) speed limit?)

Great project that you will enjoy long term. I built my range in 1988. An my skeet field in 2016. Having a place to shoot when you want to is fantastic!!!!!!!!

Did a little work today in the left lane, put up two targets at 26 yards for the pistoleros, used sign posts and chain.

I put up a rifle target at 114 yards, T-Posts and chain. I can get around 10 more yards on the left lane, will likely put up something behind this one. The right lane can go farther, 122 yards plus.

Sprayed some greenery with roundup and cut down, cut up, cleaned up a decent size tree, plus a small one, made a brush pile for the critters.

Front of pistol targets. 8"x12" pig, 12" circle. 26 yards

Rifle target. (6", 5", 4", 3" & 2 1/2" circles) 114 yards. Should be fun.

awesome work sir!

Where did you get the targets?

Great setup. I'm jealous. When I retire in a few years, plan to move back to PA. Looking for property where I can set up something comparable. Thanks for the inspiration.

I like the funny looking one with all the different sized targets. I am going to order one as I know some grown up kids, their still kid kids, and an old grandpa type geezer that will enjoy it.

Nice work and seriously jealous as I have to drive at least 30-35 minutes to closest shooting spot.

Now, all you need to do is build an insulated shooting hut with drop down screened/shuttered windows for all season shooting. Maybe even a small reloading bench/shelf for load development with immediate testing. :D

We can only dream but life is short.

The light was good this am for getting a good pic or two. You can just make out the target at 114 yards. I'm concentrating on the
left lane right now, and will put up a new target or two each payday. Some intended for rifle (50+ yards), some closer for pistols.

Put in a long day Saturday, temps were not bad at all (low 80s), made a lot of progress. Sunday I cut grass all day, a lot of grass.
I need to add a couple of more 4x4 supports concreted in the ground, then deck it, then build a shelf/countertop/wahtever front
right and down the right side, similar to my other deck.

The other deck soon after I built it.
