24 Hour Gun Sales?

I know up home (Morgantown WV, in Charlotte NC for school now) Dunham's Sporting Goods won't sell a firearm after 5 pm weekdays and nothing on weekends because they send your info (4473) to their corporate office for 'their own records' before they call in for the background check. This was told to me by all employees at the store. Makes no sense to me. I thought that your 4473 info had to maintained on premises for some number of years and couldn't be copied/moved unless the business went under. Maybe I'm mistaken.

I would of called the manager the next day and tell him he missed out on a $400 sale because his clerk would not sell you the gun. Then tell him that you will buy it at xyz shop down the street.
