Here is my bullet list:

70gr Nosler ballistic tip boat tail
72gr Barnes Varminator (HP)
87gr Hornady V-Max
105gr Hornady A-Max

I have some loads for the 70gr Noslers and the 105gr A-Max, but I am short on loads for the remainder. I've found some 87gr V-Max loads on sites like handloads.com and such, but they are either maximums or over-max loads and I don't care to start there. I have also come up completely empty on loads for the 72gr Varminators. My 70gr Noslers like 40-41gr of Varget, so I would assume that a 72gr bullet would like 38-40 grain loads, but I don't want to assume.

Could someone with a Hornady and Barnes reloading manual do me a big favor? :D I am going to a gun show tomorrow and will be looking for reloading books, but in case I come up empty on that mission, can someone transcribe some loads to this thread for me? Thanks!

Nosler has the load data on the web site for there bullets ,Barnes and Hornady will provide you with load data if you give them a call.

Jason, if that 40-41gr of Varget is NOT showing signs of over pressure i.e. flattened/pancaked primers, bright stretch ring around the cartridge base/head etc. with the 70gr Noslers. Then the 72gr Barnes should be fine also at 40-41gr of Varget. You should drop the charge by around 10% though and work them back up, as you are changing one of the components of the loading. (pretty much every loading manual will tell you to do that). It maybe a case of being over cautious, but remember you are dealing with pressures of around +40,000 psi in 243win, and i've seen the result of a case burst with these types of pressures, although i haven't seen any injuries, thank god, it can be pretty humbling for the shooter to say least. Not trying to scare you or anything, but when they say drop the charge and work it up it back up, it's best to be cautious. I like to size and prime some cases and goto the range with powder, scales, a handpress with seater die, bullets etc. and work up loads that way, only increasing the powder charge when i am confident that there no signs of over pressure. Remember what someone says is a good load for their rifle, maybe running higher pressures in yours.
