I just bought some 135gr sierra match bullets for my Shilen barreled .270winchester. I have on hand a large quantity of H1000, but haven't found a charge weight for that bullet and powder. Was going to split the difference between a 140 and 130 loading but wasn't sure that was a good idea. Anyone have any load info on this? It shoots 130 gr game kings into one small ragged hole at 100yds, going to see if the matchkings do any better. The rifle seems to shoot best with it approaching max charge weights with both 130 and 140 gr bullets and the H1000 powder.

Thanks for any help in advance.

In general, it's ok to use the specified loads for the heavier bullet when you need to extrapolate for a bullet that is between two weights (that are fairly close together) you do have data for. As usual, start at the starting load and work up from there. You should never go past the max for the lighter bullet and you should use that max with caution. If the bullet weights with known data are far apart (e.g., 90 gr and 150 gr), then maybe you should purchase a powder that is listed for the bullet you want to use because now burn rate differences come into play.

Having said that, 5 grains isn't a big difference in bullet weights and you could probably use published data for either weight without danger, in your specific example.
