Some very nice pics of some good looking guns, folks. I haven't seen one yet that I wouldn't mind having. Thanks for sharing.
Snorko, I couldn't agree more. Guns that are well proportioned with regard to barrel and frame are aesthetically pleasing.
Like JFrame, I love my S&W M60-15 Pro. It's the best out of the box trigger and shooter that I've ever purchased new (that I almost didn't buy because of the lock, but it fit my hand perfectly, had great balance, and I liked the wood grips and appearance of the weapon very much...not to mention that I had originally intended on bringing home a semi-auto pistol that day). After putting a couple of thousand rounds through it, the action has improved to a more buttery smoothness. My wife carries a three inch Rossi M88. We have other guns, but the three inchers are our daily companions.
I only have one sp101 but have come to live it. I do have a 2- 4 inch smiths. One is a 67 and the other is a 66. I'm in the market for something else though

I have a 629 3" carry comp .44mag/sp that I love. The trigger is phenomenal. It feels good. Very versatile. Pleasant to shoot with 44sp and short barrel mag loads. Not bad with some more powerful mag loads.
Funny thing is: My wife loves shooting this gun! It's a good combination of esthetics and performance. The recoil/snap/blast out of it is overrated, in my humble opinion. And I'm a wimp. I don't like shooting small .40SW guns.
On a medium- or large-frame revolver the three-inch barrel looks better proportioned to the rest of the gun than a two- or 2 1/2-inch. With Smith & Wessons it also allows a longer ejector rod to fully eject all cases, even magnums. This was the one thing I didn't like about my 2 1/2-inch 19 and 66.
I joined the 3" club on July 3rd. Ruger SP101. Which wasn't even on the radar when I posted this 2" or 3" thread ; http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=454243
Much easier to sit down with than a 4" gun with none of the drawbacks of a 2"er.
Saw one just like Deanodog's in the same exact shape. Perfect and the shop wanted 189.99 for it. That was a year ago. Kick myself every time I think about it!.......I just kicked myself.
I have a M624 Lew Horton also and it's one of my favorites. Accuracy from the 3" barrel is impressive. I also have a M25/1955, 6", in .45acp. This thing will shoot the eyes out of a snake.
Speaking of 3" er's, one of my other favorites is a Rossi M88. This is basically a knock off of a S&W J frame in stainless. I bought it new in the mid 80's for $160. The double action is as smooth as silk and it is very well made. I've had hundreds of rounds through it without a single problem. It's a great carry piece and points a lot better than something with a 2" tube. The M88 can be found with a 2" or 3" barrel and I think is a great value for the money. It even has two "early Smith" details: a pinned barrel and a flat cylinder latch. Nice.
I will never sell my S&W m65 with a 3 inch barrel and round butt. has to be the best k frame out there. no sights to catch on anything. points like my finger and shots like magic. Oh I must say I am getting kinda excited.
My 3" S&W Model 13 in .357 Magnum is one of my favorite guns. I think it might be the best balanced handgun I own. I've not fired it enough to trust it for CCW duty, but when I do I think it will make a great carry gun.
