30-06 VS .308 Better??

I shot a deer at about 75yds with a 06 and it died. Same thing happened when I used a 308.

The 308 didn't recoil as hard as the 06 and the 308 was lighter to carry in and out.

Performance is virtually identical. You choose the 308 so you can have a more compact rifle. Making a full-length action in 308 is crazy.

Hello all, RON L here

I've had BOTH Calibers, My Dad was More Inclined to 3006, I gravitated towqards 308, in most game Situations, if the correct bullet weight, and powder loads we could use BOTH t do what we needed to do! I have no real Preference! Most game in our area of N America EITHER will do the JOB!

Yupp....i forget about the search feature... yeah because imma buy a bolt action rifle in either .308 or 30-06.....well which ever one i can grab first........its eeither a savage rifle or a tikka because i have a faily low budget until i buy an A-10 from armalite.....I think i might go with a 30-06 because the a 10 is .308 so thats probly what i am gunna do
