I have a Rem 700 .308 AAC-SD that is looking for a suppressor to play with. Problem is that appears to be easier said than done. My LGS who I've bought other suppressors from says none in stock, and none of the distributors will order one without cash up front and then wait. How long? no one will say.

I'm not inclined to give up $1000 plus and wait for an unknown amount of time, then do paperwork so the gov can have me wait another unknown amount of time. At my age my estate could be enjoying the thing before I ever see it :uhoh:

Is this just how it is right now? If so, any relief in sight?

With most NFA orders, there are two delays that are due to government paperwork (Form 3 and Form 4). It is reasonable for a dealer to require payment before he gives you the Form 4 to finish and submit. Form 3 (manufacturer to dealer) delays are fairly predictable, ours are currently averaging about 43 days. It's not even that unreasonable for a dealer to require payment up front for a special-order item. However, I would say that it's somewhat unreasonable for a distributor or manufacturer to give a totally open-ended time frame for delivery.

Brokak, the price is right, but I'm suspicious of how is he making a stainless can that weighs less than a titanium can? Fewer baffels?

not sure, give him a shout at his webpage or post on the thread, I had questions on the 1st group buy and they were answered promptly. I think the group buy will be over soon though so if you're interested you might want to get in there.

the weight for the one on the first group buy was 27oz or something. I bet 14 is a typo and they intended to type 24oz, not 14. But I couldn't catch the guy by phone to ask. Group buy also looks closed. oh well, looked to good to be true anyway. 14oz 30 cal can for 350 bucks, I mean really.......
