What is your question? $55 can/ 20 doesn't sound like an unreasonable price for factory ammo for that cartridge. That caliber will definitely handle deer, moose ect. as you say with the proper bullets. I would definitely reload that caliber if I was going to shoot it regularly.
The 325 WSM is a potent round, easily capable of handling the game that you may hunt.
That's a lot of money for ammo, but it probably won't get any cheaper unless someone has a clearance sale. The brass should last you quite a while for reloading.
Your question is a bit vague, but $55.00CAD/box seems like a lot of money for ammo. If you haven't already purchased the rifle I would suggest a different chambering. The WSMs cartridges aren't very popular, so they aren't easy to find, especially if you hunt in remote locations. Comparable chamberings include .338-06A-Square, .35Whelen, 9.3x62mmMauser, and 9.3x64Brenneke but these aren't much better (or in some cases as good) WRT availability. I would probably go up the scale a bit and choose a .338WM or a .375H&H for this reason. BTW, the .338WM costs a bit less for factory cartridges (and .375H&H isn't too bad), at least they do here stateside.
