From a 2in S&W 360PD

Winchester 813-829 FPS
Remington 800-818 FPS
Federal????

Can anyone fill in the blanks?
anyone else offer this load?

I don't use Remington any longer due to quality and customer service issues.

Federal is good and accurate, but, I believe that they now distribute the +P 158 gr. LSWCHP as a LE only round.

That leaves Winchester...... it's good and accurate, it's more readily available in my experience, and less expensive.

Zero Ammo makes a SWCHP +P. They advertise theirs at 910 fps (presumably from a 4" barrel), but I don't have a chrono to tell me what it does out of my snub. Sure would like to know--shoot, I'd be glad to send you a few out of my next box to find out. Or, you could get some from rozedist.com. Their prices are great, too.

Federal does about 785 fps from Colt Cobra.

It depends on the lot of ammo, but for all practical purposes they all have the same velocity.

I agree with tbeb that they'll all be about the same,cor-bon used to load the 158gr to 1,000fps that i clocked at 920fps from a 2" SP-101.I was really ticked off when they quit making it.

I've seen Federal clocked in magazine articles, and it usually ran about neck-and-neck with Winchester. It has been very accurate from my S&W M66, and shoots okay in my snub .38's, but JHP's in the 125-130 grain range shoot better.

I REALLY wish that the lead HP's were more widely available.

anyone still have some. I would LOVE to put some of those into gelatin. If anyone has any they are willing to part with, I'll be more than happy to buy them.

Here's what I got several years ago:
158 WW P+ LHP factory 2" Colt Detective special 768 2" Chiefs Special798 3" 60-4 837 .

haven't shot the other loads but since the factory rn numbers were down in the high 600 to low 700 fps range, these wws are a bit more energetic
