The Super is a fun little round. I shoot it a lot and have 2 1911's along with another on order in it and a Witness Elite Match.

All of the guns are accurate, reliable and fun to shoot. I worked up a standard load of SR4756 and a 135 grn lead bullet that I shoot at 1300 FPS. It is just my standard plinking load it is accurate and reliable. It is not even a max load.

Looking at Winchester, they have a 9mm +P+ 127 grn round at only 1250 fps. This give you a comparison on the power differences to a 9mm.

I have a full sized 1911 in 9mm that my local smith built for me. I love to shoot that thing. Very comfortable.

I also own an old Colt series 70 in .38 super. It is almost as comfortable to shoot-a lot of fun- but not nearly as cheap to shoot. I reload for it but not the 9mm.

I can shoot either of them MANY more times than my .45 before I get tired and the groups begin to open up.

i like shootin'm!!....i like runnin' mine a little hot....125gr JHP 13.8gr Power Pistol runs them little over 1450fps from 5".....have 2 Commanders and 2 Government....hot ones gets some looks at the ranger....i would pick Super over 9mm.....Super is much more flexible...

That is a good warm load. I figured once I got 135 grns to 1300 it was good enough and stopped there. The Super is a lot of fun to shoot and easy to reload. Not much bad to say about it if you are a reloader.
