Wolfy,
Your problem resulted from shooting the Silver Bear!!
I learned the hard way that the P3AT was NOT designed to extract STEEL cased ammo!! You violated the first rule of ammo. Commie ammo for commie guns!! I own several Makarovs, which were designed to fire steel cased ammo. The extractor for the Makarov is the same as for the AK-47, for God's sake!!
I forgot that and tried to shoot Silver Bear, which has steel under that nickle plating, and durn near FU'ed my gun!! I made it through 9 rounds before a case failed to extract (you can't blame a mechanical device for failing to do what it was never designed to do) and stuck in the chamber!! Now, my assembly pin wants to back out during recoil and I get pelted with brass, probably due to the extractor being "tweaked" by trying to handle those
steel cases!! I have detail cleaned it and will take it to the range tomorrow. I plan to fire standard pressure BRASS CASED ammo. If it malfunctions, I will have to send it off to Kel-Tec!!
Point being, don't blame the gun for doing it's best to do what you have ordered it to do!! Handling steel cased ammo is, more than likely, outside the design specs!!
