Okay Giz, I'll play. Don't have a picture of them together yet but here's the long gun.

An 1894S from the first run of 2500 in 1984 (pardon the S&W prop rod.)

And the S&W model 57 no dash that came home just today.

Any interest in shooting the 100 yard gong with the .41's?

I have to ask: why scope a short range carbine such as this? I find it hampers the usefulness of the firearm. I do own and hunt with several revolver cartridge carbines, I'm also very near sighted and have worn glasses for over 50 years. I am not being disrespectful, but , why the scope?

A scope is very helpful in hunting situations, especially in poor light, and even at distances so close that many would be embarrassed to admit that they "needed" the scope.

Where I hunt, its almost impossible to ever see a whole deer at once - let alone pick up that little moving blip of brown-patch with that (seems like) colossal front sight covering up half of what you are trying to aim at.

Why a scope?

Well "She Who Must Be Obeyed" wanted one:D
This is my wife's hunting gun......no arguing that...

Here it is pre-scope, with a 4" S&W Model 657....
