Prices dont seem to be getting any better here. We only have one place locally to buy reloading supplies and he is pretty expensive. I bought some one shot case lube and had a can of Reloader 15 set out on the counter also. But when he rang it up at $39.99, thats when i told him no way will i pay that for a can of powder. Kind of pizzed him off but oh well, i'll order on line. What are you all paying for single lbs of powder?

That's toooo much!

Local gun shop has unique for 20.00, all of the ramshot powders for 22.00, . Two weeks ago I gave, 23.00 for H414 and 23.00 for h4350 at an Eastman gun show in Macon Ga. . This past weekend the bass pro in macon had H4350 for 28.00 and H4895 for 26.00.. I hope things get better soon .

A rip off it is! He keeps some primers in the back for a few 'good' customers. I'm one of the few but i wont pay his price. I dont need them.

$18-$20 a pound locally, and most of it is available. Got 5 pounds of Trail Boss for $95 recently, purchased by a friend at a gun show. He also got himself 5 pounds for the same price, along with a pound of HS6 for $18.

Primers are still thin in the wind locally, but the powder supply is OK. Unfortunately none of the shops in town sell powder, so I have to drive about 30 miles one way to get it.

I had to pay $34.95 for a pound of IMR 3031 recently, which I thought was ridiculous but I was totally out of it. But it is the last time I'll do it. I asked around at the rifle club and there are several guys that get together to order on line. I'll go in with them from now on.

Law of supply and demand requires that we be willing to pay what they demand. Sellers set hoped for prices, buyers determine value. I won't pay rip-off prices! And, I have a looong memory of those who tried to rip me off. I'll travel further and pay more in fuel to avoid poor ethics dealers.

$19 - $22 per pound here. at least for smokeless. bp, and some of the substitutes are higher. but i have enough of that to last me several years.

I paid $24 for a pound of Bullseye this week. That is the most I've ever paid for any powder, but I can't find any on-line dealers who have 8 lb containers in stock.

Bullseye is $13 a pound in 4lb jugs at PV. Need 8 pounds? Then buy two 4 pound jugs.

I paid 34 bucks for a pound of h-110 but i also realized that for pistols itll last hell of lot longer than some rifle loads. but for rifles im gona have ot travel 50 miles to get what i want for right pricing. but im buying a lot though so all good.

Not going to defend it, but frankly a lot of powder suppliers at the wholesale lever have sort of quit discounting powder in case lots, and some only ship Fedex or UPS not commercial truck to save on costs of HAZ MAT Tags and primers are heavy too!
Sot there are reasons from price increases passed on to customers that perhaps are not always clear. But, of course people will whine and stuff cause that their nature. Their poor planning is the reason for their whining!

But....if i can buy it on line for less than half of what my dealer is asking, you know that being a dealer he gets it cheaper than i can. I say he's gouging.

Have any of you folk been in the retail business for yourselves? Does anyone miss the local sporting goods shops that fall to the big discounters or the on liners? Some may gouge, but some are trying to stay in business---think about it!

Small Shop Blues

I wish it was better news guys but its not.

I just paid $22.50 hazmat on one case of CCI BR2 LR bench rest primers. My wholesale cost was $177.99, plus shipping, plus freight meaning I paid $41/1000. I'm lucky if I can get 2 cases on one order and if I decline a case, I go back to the end of the line.

My wholesaler has raised all of their prices by 15% to 25% over what was published in their last catalog. Last week while on hold, I heard the office staff discussing the need for the company to buy their own plane. I'm looking for new suppliers and am willing to spend money but it appears that there are sooooo many newbies out there that the big guys can get retail prices for everything they receive and don't really want the competition from us little guys.

All I can say is, next time you need a trigger job or a sight swap, you might have to send your firearm to your on-line supplier.

Well, there is no way you will ever make out buying just one (1) # of powder on line! The shipping and haz mat charges alone are 30 bucks.....LOL

Again your poor planning is the reason for you whining! Learn to plan ahead and if you order online make a big purchase to spread out the Haz Mat And Shipping Costs! Sad but true!

The days of getting powder and primers on demand are gone! Nothing more nothing less!
Buy what you can when you see it, cause shure and the sun rised in the east......someone else will make up your mind for you!
