.44 Magnum Light & Fast Loads?

Hello all,
I have felt and seen the power! I had the pleasure of chronographing some old Super-Vel 180gn bullets that screamed through the screens at over 1900fps!!
Now add the memory of a story in John Ross's Unintended Consequences about a special light weight gas checked HP of 172gns (?) and reports of 2000fps from an 8 3/8" S&W?
Does anyone market a light bullet as described and have any of you done any similiar work with the .44 Magnum?

sea level @ 70 degrees
There's about half a box left and I was planning on pulling one apart and weighing the components.
I spoke with Mr Jurras a couple years back and I believe he said H-110 was used.

R-P offers their superb SJHP in 180g; Barnes offers an "X" at 200g; Sierra has a 180g; Hornady does an XTP-HP at 180g (rated up to 1400fps).

For "goin' fast, reeeeal fast" suggest H110, W296, N110, Enforcer, 4227.
But be careful LOL.
Starline cases, Redding Profile crimp 'heavy', etc.....

Out of a revo of 8" or so, I think you can see about 1700 fps, according to old Hornady manuals. The Super Vels were loaded back in the glorious days of yesteryear, when ammo makers weren't so eager to find ways to load ammo down.

I certain infamous ammo maker mentioned that one can't get enough H-110 into a .44 Magnum with a 180gn bullet to exceed SAAMI standards.
I'm still looking for a source for those 172gn (?) bullets mentioned in John Ross's U.C. novel as since my first my initial post here I have duplicated the Super-Vel numbers and since cast generates less pressure than jackets the 2000fps may well be possible?

If he doesn't answer this post, use a search engine to find his home page. I suspect that he is citing a real load -even if he came up with the bullet weight with a corbin swaging system.
The Speer #8 from that period (sometimes called "the blow-up manual") list 29 grains of h110 with the 180 jsp. Velocity from a 6.5" 29 is given as 1628.
If I ever clock any of the old SV stuff, I believe I will use the stoutest ruger I can find.

I don't get the whole Light and Fast thing. Probably cause I'm a Big and Slow type of guy.

Different mindsets I guess. I'll donate a bit of chrono info for the thread though:

240 gr, 23 H110
Redhawk 5.5 barrel= 1300
12" Contender = 1500
16" Marlin 1894 = 1600...maybe it was 1650ish.

These loads are still under published max loads. Plenty fast for me, and I've seen the results on a Wisconsin Whitetail...clean through. Twice.

.430" 300g LTC, R-P case, CCI300, way too much Universal Clays (don't ask, but I ran out of room using slower powders), 1800fps.

One shot.

5.5" Redhawk required brass-hammer persuasion just to open the cylinder; Ruger service is excellent.
