.45 acp loads

I am using red dot and unique behind a lasercast 230 grain rn with winchester wlp primers. Could you guys give me suggestions as to what would be a comforable load. By comfortable I mean something I can shoot with a 18.5 spring thats moving at about 700-850 fps.

Currently I am using 5.1 and 5.5 of red dot. The 5.5 is fairly potent so I took it down to 5.1.

Could you guys give me some good loads that you have had good results with?

200 grn LSWC over 4.5 grns Bullseye. Great, accurate, mild load.

I've done thousands of these and they are repeatable and smooth. A bit slower than you would expect from LSCW data.

I was loading a 230gr. LRN with 4.9gr. of red dot, got a burr up my rear and decided to try out some Blue dot a couple months ago and came up with 9.5gr and it seemed to shoot lighter and a bit more accurate. USing CCI300 primers. the RD load is seated to 1.270", the BD load is seated to 1.230"

200 SWC (H&G 68 type), Win LP primer, Hodgdon Clays from 3.6-3.8 grains. OAL for my 45's is 1.2550 to 1.2675 and they feed fine in every quality gun I have tried them in. If you shoot with a soft wrist/hand you may need to bump the powder up to 3.8-3.9 area when using a stock spring. If you shoot with a hard hand/wrist you can go down to 3.4 easily with a stock spring on a well fitted pistol.
