I want to reload for a 45 long colt built in about 1959 to 1960. I want to use jacketed bullets and I am not sure to use .451 or .452 diameter bullets. Can someone tell me where I can get the info on this?

Most 45 Colts made after WWII will have a bore of .451. You need .451 for jacketed and .452 for lead. The ones made before WWII will be .454.

Slug your barrel and be sure. Most manuals will give you the proper procedure and I'm sure you can also find this information on the 'net. FYI, I have two Colt's dating to the 50's and both mike out at .452". :)

I don't think you are going to find too many .45 Colt revolver bullets made in .451".

Most bullets that size are for the .45 ACP, and do not have a crimp cannulure on them like a revolver bullet.

Speer does make them in .451", and Hornady & most everyone else makes them in .452".
Sierra splits the differance and makes them .4515"!

Either one is perfectly fine for a modern .45 Colt.
