450 Marlin or other medium/big bore

Well for meduium bore lever guns the .35 rem is a hell of brush gun and the recoil is only moderately more than a .30-30 and can be worked up to faster velocities. Brass is easy to find and ammunition the same. If you go big bore the .45 70 will have the most widely available components, the .444 is a good choice, it does offer one advantage over .45-70 that is a flater trajectory at least in factory ammo. I vote .35 rem or .45-70, in low pressure loadings the .45-70 is not a heavy kicker and the .35 rem will go from 180-220 grain bullets and makes for a great brush gun for black bear, whitetail, and hogs.
