Still after three or more years of messing with my .458 SOCOM sometimes it gives less than reliable feeding. The AR working parts on this 16" build all seem to fit correctly and are balanced for the cartridge with no extraction or chambering problems (anymore) but on my 3 home (according to the .458 Blogs) modified GI mags or un modified Mag Pull , D&H and colt 30 or 20 round mags the feeding is less than perfect. Before I spend for a couple C Product .458 Socom 10 round Mags I just would like input on what works 100%. I heard the 4 round D&H Socom mags do, but that is not really a perfect solution, I hope !.

I had a feeding issue with mine, came down to using an aftermarket follower in the magazine.

Went with a stock magazine and it's worked fine since then. Are you sure it's a problem with the mag? You said you've tried different ones, what else have you checked on the upper?

We polished up as in the great instructions you provided the barrel extenstion feed ramps to what they say is good for .458 Socom and that got it feeding fairly well early on, we have NOT polished the bolt face as shown but now will !
Like I said when it does feed it extracts and ejects normally, and it does so manually with home modified for .458 GI magazines . But pretty much if loading more than 7 in any mag there are problems on the 2 thru last shots, I ordered 2 of the C product .458 Socom marked specific 30 round size that hold 10 rounds . I will let you know how they work. In the mean time more polishing on the bolt head.and face. The .458 mag has an anti tilt single round follower that is supposed to have optimum agle of presentation for .458. The stock followers do seem to let the cartridge move around alot in the mag and I notice when I pull a partially loaded mag out after firing a couple rounds the bullet feed angles are not perfectly uniform as say a .5.56 mag is. We want to use this gun as a local bear hunting gun , my son was leaning towards the 4 round D&H .458 Mag which is even more expensive than the $20 each I paid for the C product Dura mag .458 mags

Factory ammo or reloads? Are the front of the mags ground down to make sure the round clears and doesn't drag. Any pics of what the jams look like. Does the spent casing get out of the receiver?
