480 Ruger Thread Resurrection
I also like the 480 Ruger caliber as I have a SRH. The other day I ran into a BFR in 480 Ruger/475 Linebaugh and put the gun on layaway.
I measured the barrel from the forcing cone and it measured about 7". So, if what was said earlier in the thread is correct about measuring from the frame, then I guess this is a 6.5" The thing looks almost new. I wanted a 6.5".
This gun has been on my list for a couple years and I have finally pulled the trigger on one. The trigger is real nice by the way. The weaver mounts aren't with it. We'll have to see how the beast shoots after I get it paid off. Money is a little tight right now and it will probably be a couple months before I have it paid for.
Philoe, how did your 480 work out? Accuracy?
I am kind of dumb about this, so I will simply ask... it says 480/475... on the barrel, so I assume that I don't need a second cylinder. Correct? (Just like 38spl/357 mag I would assume.)
Any info you can provide would be useful as I have zero experience with BFR's.
