7.62 x 25 tokarev ammo

There is still some available. I just saw some for $120 for 1260 rounds. Have fun searching.

Come on throw us bone...where is it?

I've been on google overload and can only seem to find the PRVI:banghead:

It's caliber that is going extinct so surplus ammo supply is going to run out and only expensive newly made ammo will be available in the future.
Yes and no. It's extinct as a military caliber, so the surplus stuff will eventually run out, as you say. But the price of newly-made ammo will depend on how much of a market there is for it. If there's a decent market for it (and I think there is), it shouldn't be any more expensive than comparable handgun ammo. It'll be more expensive than 9MM, sure, but it won't be prohibitive. Check out the prices for S&B and Privi now. I think there are enough Toks out there that Tok ammo won't be a rare bird.

However, I bought a Tokarev for historical interest. If I had bought it because of cheap ammo, I'd be pretty unhappy right now.

I'm thinking fallout_mike is just harassing us...haha. "Have fun searching." would seem to suggest this as well.

fallout_mike, if you're not pulling our legs, please let us know, we'd all love a case to stash away for the future as well.

I have heard the same as Flash..."more on order". If it does come in stock again, and you want to go in together on a larger quantity, let me know Flash! - I am in the Houston area too.

Try century arms website. That may be one that you have to fax them a copy of your ffl or c&r before you can get access to it. It's been a couple weeks since I saw it. But I haven't been looking for it. I just noticed it bc of threads on here of people having a hard time finding it. That may not even be the site. I do know it was a site that u had to fax a copy of your license in to get access though.

As of right now, there is no cheap 7.62x25 to be had. Look online all you want, you won't find it.

If you want Polish or Romanian 7.62x25, you can find it at Gunbroker and the like, but don't bother if you're not willing to spend about $250/1260 before shipping

I have personally been searching for a while and I scour when I search.

I believe you, fallout_mike. No doubt that stockpile was sold out quickly though and is no longer available. I vaguely remember seeing some (though very overpriced) but I think it was a bit farther back than I'm remembering. I'm glad to hear some ammo sites have been saying they'll be getting some more in sometime. We'll just have to keep our eyes peeled.

This obviously doesn't apply to ALL of the stores and availability of the ammo, but I did see what looked Tok ammo on the shelf at my local Gander Mountain recently ( Saint Augustine, FL ). I don't remember the manufacturer at the moment, and I think it was labeled "7.62 Russian" or something like that. I checked to see if it was a mix up with the rifle rounds, but no- it was for the Tok.

Maybe the commercial stuff? S&B or Privi?

Sellier & Bellot, Prvi Partisan (PPU) and Wolf (also PPU) is available AFIAK.

It's only the inexpensive Polish, Yugoslavian and Romanian military surplus that has dried up, seemingly overnight, that caught many off-guard.
I was fortunate enough to purchase plenty Polish and Yugoslavian when I purchased my two M57s. I thought it was a bit foolish at the time... but not anymore.

Aim surplus had some when i looked on friday i thought. Out already?
AIM has Privi Partisan (commercial ammo) at $16 a box, $15 if you buy more than 35 boxes. About 30¢ a round, in other words. Plus shipping, of course.

The romey dried up some time ago. I last I got a few months ago was the only polish I have, last j+g had. I heard it was crappy but the stuff they sent me was not punch-seated, it was stamped, worked good and I wish I'd bought more. I have bulgarian, czech, and romainian and I gotta say, I like the polish best. I should have bought more than 350 rounds. When and if this ammo reappears, you can be sure our friends the "wholesalers" will want much more for it and the others.

30 tok was never a very prolific round to begin with. when it did come to the us it built up slowly and sold even slower. nobody wanted to invest in a proprietary import round so they went with the other more availible rounds with more foreseeable futures like ak47/74 ammo. but after the obamanation came to power and everyone stockpiled like the world was ending all the ak47/74 ammo began to dry up so for a very short time people started looking for even cheaper ammo turns out the 30 tok fit the bill pretty well. so a lot of people started investing in the sterling carbines in 7.62x25 the tokarov pistols(of course) and I think there may have even been an AR15 upper made for the 30 tok. but the very limited supply ran out and now it's in the smae place as the 762x39. just a year ago I could get 1024 brass cased rounds (for the ak) for the same price as 1000 rounds of cheapassed wolf ammo today. ak74 ammo just a year ago was going for $120 for 1080 rounds are now going for closer to $180. I'm sorry for the OP but he may not even be able to shoot his 30 tok in the near future.

Unless the purchase of ammunition in general is outlawed, the OP will most certainly be able to find 7.62x25 ammunition. With the number of CZ-52 and Tokarevs of various manufacturers that have been imported, there's a strong enough market/demand for 7.62x25 ammunition and will be for some time.
It's the surplus that's dried up; commercial ammunition is still being produced and imported, costing about as much as commercial .40S&W and .45acp.

give it a year or so to let the russians gear up and make some steel cased 7.62x25, and you'll be able to buy it for $10 per box of 50.

That sealed spam can of Romanian I bought may be worth something some day...I don't plant to open it.
When I shoot my Tokarev, I will just buy a box or two of commercial ammo.

I just bought a tin of Romanian for $200. I can live with under 7c a round.

200/1296=0.154 per round.

Its been a good while since it was $0.07 around, I really stocked up when I got my 7.62x25 AR upper and the ammo was still about $118/1260 (Polish) or $0.0936 per round.

Despite it being older, I prefer the Polish over the Romanian, way fewer failures to fire in my Romanian Tok and seems to be much less fouling afterwards too.

All things considered, at $0.20/shot I'd rather do the Russian steel cased .223 or 7.62x39, and steel cased 9mm is running about $0.17/shot. It easy to reload 9mm for less than this and at our club its near impossible to come home with less 9mm brass than you shot as most folk leave it lay after shooting.

currently Classic Arms, Century Int'l, and J&G all have 7.62 x 25 surplus ammo in stock..... it is still twice the price that it should be but the ammo is becoming available again.....
