7.62 X 54 dies

Anyone know where I can get some dies for my 7.62 X 54 that are .311 in diameter instead of .308. All the ones I see are .308.

I believe Hornady ships theirs with both .308 and .311 balls.

Lee will send you a .311 expander for their dies . .but if it shaves brass on your first case send it in to them immediately. (They had a bad batch of dies)

I have the RCBS set it has both expander balls in .308 and .311 its actually .310 I got mine at Midway.

Send your fired brass to C&H Tool and Die and they will make you a die that fits your chamber.

Since this cartridge headspaces on the rim, often times the chambers are cut generously in the shoulder dimension. The shoulders tend to blow forward quite a bit. If you FL resize your cases, and set the shoulders back to original dimension, you may have some real problems.

The die is less than $60, and your brass fits your rifle perfectly.

I don't use expander balls, especially in the sizing step, where it would pull through.

Hey, if it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing! Especially considering you can buy an extra M44 for that money.
