Have seen the 7.62 uppers on two different M16 lowers and it was bang bang broken parts. Anyone else have better luck?

Why is this in NFA? With a 16" barrel and a standard AR-15 it's legal normally.

As for 7.62x25 uppers, you're shooting something that's primarily a corrosive round (you bought it because ammo is cheap, right?) through a direct impingement gun. Do you have any idea what a nightmare that's going to be to clean? I honestly see NO point in shooting any corrosive rounds through an AR-15. You're just asking for trouble.

He put it in NFA because his question seems to be that the 7.62x25mm uppers he's seen broke on "M16 lowers." i.e.: when run on full-auto

"Bang bang broken parts." Not "bang bang bang bang...etc."

That's why I didn't merge this directly to the thread in Rifle as that one is mostly concerned with Title I rifles.

Full auto 7.62x25

Broken extractors, extractor pins, extractor springs, ejector springs calapced, broken bolt, broken mag adapter, bad carrier, broken cam pin. These things have been a nightmare.

Bad brand to buy, it sounds like. I made a 7.62x25mm upper for a friend's M16a1, worked like a charm last I knew.

Where did you have the gas hole in the barrel? Our guns are taking a terrible hammering and I wonder if there is too much pressure too soon.

The gas port was not present - I made it as a direct blowback with a heavy bolt.

Thanks, that was my thinking also but I cannot convince my friend that that is the way to go. After he gets frustated enough I will make him a bolt and mag adapter with a stationary ejector. I was thinking that a single stack mag like a Sten mag would also be better. Time will tell.

So where can we get the parts to make this upper, I've looked at some of them online but want to make sure it will run in an M16

7.62 uppers

I will not tell you where these units came from because in my opinion they are so poorly designed and will give you nothing but headaches. I don't care how cheap the ammo is it is not worth the trouble.
Just the other day I mentioned this system to a friend and he told me " I used one in the last subgun match and it ran great but it did have a lot of trigger slap and I did break a camming pin". Another unfortunate owner has been struggling with this conversion for over a month and has broken virtually every part except the cotter pin that holds the firing pin. I am doing you a favor.
