7MM-08 AI Brass

My son had to have his 7MM-08 converted to an Ackley and a new stock, kids. OK, it's finished and what's done is done. I'm getting rid of all my fired 7MM-08 brass and starting out with new brass.

I wish Lapua made 7MM-08 brass, but they don't so I'm left with Remington, Winchester or Norma. I like Norma brass, I use it in my 6.5x55, but it's kinda soft and I'm not crazy about the price.

So, what do you think about 308Win Lapua brass necked down to 7MM and formed to an Ackley? I know it can be done, but are there any drawbacks to this other than a wrong head stamp? Will case life suffer doing this? Or should I just get some Remington brass and be done?

Lapua has the best brass hands down, the only thing is you may need to turn the necks after sizing down, depending on the neck size of the chamber. .308 to .284 is not a big change, so it may be ok.
