Almost 10 weeks from sent to Pending even though my check cleared quickly. According to NFATracker.com Anna Feltner is taking about 174 days from Pending to Approval over the last 6 months (and then almost another week in the mail).

Seriously? Am I really looking at 9 or more months for Trust Form 1s sent in Mid Feb?

Mike

I think they keep shuffling apps back in the pile if you call them and ask about progress. It will go faster if you don't inquire.

That's what I was thinking. They probably make sure to dig in the boxes and gets yours out after you call and then put it in another box further down the line.

Two weeks ago, I got a form 4 back on an AAC SDN-6 that I sent in November 1st, 2012. I used the trust route. Just FYI.

Six more days and I am at 6 months. They only have a week left! They better hurry or they'll have to send me two stamps
for the price of one. I had a coupon from Pricegrabber.com that I used for that special offer.

Looking at a Ruger 22/45 LITE and a Gemtech yesterday and the dealer warned me that 9 months was what their customers had been experiencing the last year or so.

Then the Cans I ordered at the beginning of Feb (the dealer still does not have their Form 3s back for the distributor to dealer transfer) are probably going to take well over a year for sequential Form 3s and Form 4s, possibly a year and a half. Most dealers not are not even going to sign your Form 4 when they are approved, but only after the suppressor arrives in their shop!

This is becoming outragious! "Very poor customer service" as someone recently testified.

Back during the Clinton years it wasn't unusual for Form 4s to take 12 or more months.

During the Bush years, I got Form 4s back in 37 days, 60 days, 48 days - no particular order.

First year of President Obeyme? 7 months. Last year? 6 months. Year before? 6 months.

Cans should be cash and carry like they are in civilized countries like Finland.

Yeah, the main thing keeping me from ordering a second can in .30 cal is the wait... it's so long I really don't know if I'll still be living here by the time it gets processed. Before I ordered my Sparrow, I called the ATF and asked what I needed to do if I moved to another state before I got approved... the lady on the phone assured me that all I needed to do was call, cancel my form 4 and start all over again once I got moved :uhoh:

I don't think you have to worry about them shuffling you to the back when you call, towards the end of my wait I started calling on a weekly basis and It still came in about the average amount of time.

I see what you're doing there. That's exactly what somebody who was also waiting would say so they can get ahead in line. ;)

FYI, Sara Jones is getting out and not reviewing anymore. But she is still there helping, no clue why. Jason Bowers is now the reviewer for Texas.

Let's see;

178 days since pending.

191 days since check cashed.

382 days since paying for it and expecting it to arrive three weeks later!

Still waiting, waiting, waiting...:banghead:

I believe the long waits. I called the ATF yesterday to check on my first transfer. I'm right at 8 weeks since my check was cashed and no info yet. The lady said it's taking at least 8 weeks to go pending. ouch.

Got a form 3 going to transfer another can to my dealer, wonder how long that's going to take.

Still want to order a couple more cans, I guess I better get going on those so I can get them before I kick the bucket!

No no no, they only had the forms for 191, er 192 days now. That initial wait was from my dealer actually getting the damn can in to START the torturous transfer process...

And what did we learn kiddies? Never never NEVER put money down on a can that isn't in stock, either directly from the dealer or from an online distributor, otherwise you can suffer the wait of TWO transfers for just ONE!

On other boards I'm hearing dealers are waiting 3 to 6 months for Form 3s. THEN the wait starts on the Form 4s. Simple administrative rule change could fix this. If you've been cleared for a Form 4 NFA transfer ONCE, purchases should be cash and carry with a simple NICS check. Assumption being if you STILL have NFA items (which their computers should tell them), you're still eligible to have them and buy more. Why run a background check again? And again? BATFe is broken.
