9mm, 9mm Largo, 9x21, 9x23, .38 Super, etc

I am steadfastly refusing to consider how much this would cost.

You should be hearing some funny music about right now, as you are now entering the Twilight Zone!

Some day, I may try and accomplish the same thing. It is a worthy goal, but a difficult one. I have gotten both 357 SIG and 357 SIGlong to run in my Delta Elite, but it was a long frustrating process. I can also shoot 9mm and .38 Super, .40 S&W, and of course the original 10mm from that slide and frame simply by changing to appopriate barrels, bushings, magazines, and springs.

The 10mm breechface is a little sloppy for the 2 smaller cartridges, but it did work fine for range use. The ramp is all wrong for a .45, so I never tried fitting a .45 slide. A frame made for ramped barrels would get around this difficulty, though.

The Red Chinese actually converted M1911-A1s to the Tokarev cartridge. This required stretching the magazine, and I assume, removing some metal from inside the magazine well. Sounds like a difficult process, so I think I am going to skip that cartridge.

Good luck!

more discussion

Hello all. I would enjoy reading more discussion on this subject as I know nothing about ballistics and performance.

And then there was the 38/45 from the early 70s.

Supposedly a Outdoor Pistol Bullseye competitor could use the same frame and slide and ,by swaping barrels, compete in the centerfire and 45 matches with, essentially, the same pistol.

I never had one but they did exist.

salty.
