you'll lose it before you wear it out. and if you do overlook a small crack near the mouth it's not a big deal. it will split down all the way very noticeably when you fire it, then you can throw it away.

It's not a real healthy thing to do to your chamber, but having it happen occasionally is not a big deal.

Just shoot them until they complain (have a big split) or the primers fall out.
 
There is a guy that did a very nice comparaison/testing for 9mm with a bunch of different brand. I think the average was 14 times and the best was something Luke 30 or 40 times before the brass failed. And all of them failed the same way, cracked at the mouth.

One tip: split cases dont have the same jingle as good cases. I can take 500 cases and shake them and I can tell a split is in there every time. Ask long ask you are using normal load data youll lose them before they give trouble. I dont even sort pistol cases by headstamp let alone how many firings.
