I will be getting a walther p99 compact as soon as they are available locally. (i'll be trading in some unused stuff) This pistol will be for off-duty carry. My duty weapon is a USP .45f with 230 grain gold dots. Dept. provides all ammo for primary, but ammo for secondary and BUG is officer purchased.

I read that the tight or short chamber of the walther has issues with the 124 grain speer gold dots. so, I'm looking for a top-shelf round in 9mm. The Streichers catalog has the federal tactical 9mm 133 grain bonded JHP for a decent price. Is this good stuff? I'd also consider the Federal hydra-shok in 124 grain or the Hi-shok. BTW, what is the "infamous secret service load" and what exactly does this mean?

I know that the Winchester 127 grain +p+ is also an option. I am looking to stay in the mid weight 9mm. Any good info out there on the Federal Tactical from reputable sources?
