9mm Load to Simulate SD +P Ammo?

Looking at the tables, WSF does seem to run a bit lower pressures, but it also appears to run a bit lower velocity than some of the slower burners, but only in certain applications, but also not all that much slower velocity.

After looking at the tables, WSF may be a powder I'll try. I also like the way 3n37 looks, that one has peaked my interest for a while. I saw some on the shelf a little while back, I should have grabbed it.

Lots of good options out there Rdtompki.

In my experience N340 loads and behaves very similarly to Autocomp. Charge weights, load densities, and performance are similar when compared side by side.

Autocomp is a hack of a lot cheaper though.

I like this chart better. It more accurately illustrates the concept of "relative" burn rate.

I'm curious...

that chart lists HP38 and W231 as having different burn rates (although right next to each other) and the same is true for H110 and 296.

If those pairs, HP38/W231, H110/296, are truly identical, except for name, then shouldn't they be listed at the same level on that chart?

You would like 3n37 Gamestalker. It gets top velocities for 124gr 9mm jhp. It ain't cheap though and it must be loaded in the upper end of the data. I use it for all my 9x19 non-factory SD loads.

I didn't mean to suggest that WSF was the best choice for P+ loads, I think Longshot or others would be better if you are after all the velocity you can get.
Interesting that the chart Mad Chemist linked shows N340 at the same burn speed as Longshot others show N340 as being faster. The Lapua chart shows Longshot and 4756 at about the same speed, Longshot is slower than 4756 or Autocomp. IMO
WW chart (different than the one I used data from earlier)
http://www.wwpowder.com/burn-rate.html
shows Longshot as slower than N350 or 3N38. (don't know about that from experience, never used N350, 3N37 or 3N38)
Charts vary, and of course charts are just charts, I am not trying to say one is right and another is wrong..
I won't post any #s but I will say you can step on Longshot pretty hard in 9mm,
but I don't think MAX velocity is what the OP was after. Just getting the same feel and POI as the P+ SD loads being used.
