9mm troubles

Just looked that barrel up and they recommend not using poly or cast lead bullets.

But I still think I would slug it and then get a bullet of the correct diameter for the barrel. You may still be able to use lead if it's the correct size.

Most of the shrouded barrel makers don’t recommend lead due to the possibility of leading up the shroud. There’s not a good way to be able to clean or get it out. Most use a 1/2” pvc pipe with some notches cut in the end to run down through the shroud to knock anything loose. I’ve not seen anything other than carbon so far.

I believe I may have a rod at work when I get back later this week, if so I’ll be slugging it then.

Thanks.

Last UPDATE:

Well couldn’t stand it, went back to the range this morning to try a few other things.

I originally had and angled fore grip on when I sighted it in, but realized the screw was contacting the shroud of the barrel so I removed it to grind down the screws. This hit me last night, after I had read a comment about the barrel harmonics. Well same load that was painting all over the target shot the first picture at 17yards. I also loaded up the same bullet with some unique without using the fore grip to “shim” the barrel it shot these two groups. Would have shot more but I only loaded those....figured they wouldn’t make a difference. Picture 2 is with 4.0grs of unique and the 3rd picture is 4.5grs of unique. Still a little skeptical of the original load, but I’ll keep testing.
