Took my only Grandson out shooting the holy black today. He's shot a lot of that modern stuff, but never has shot the holy black.
We started off with the SXS Pedersoli, and believe it or not he hit just about every one of those clays thrown by my "One Step Trius". Even learned how to load the barrels. (he's 16 and is spending Christmas with us this week from California). In fact he hit the last 6 in a row.
Next we shot the .50 Hawkins Flintlock by Pedersoli. Again, he hit well with the .50 and again caught on quick how to load and shoot it. Unfortunately the frizzen spring broke and that kind of put us out of luck as far as shooting it more extensively. Any way with a heavy wind blowing he shot about 8/10 in a 6" black from 40 yards off hand.
Next we shot my salvaged Thompson Hawkins .45 percussion. He managed to shoot 3 rounds in a 3" group at the 40 yards again off hand. I do believe he is a natural. That was shooting sabot .45 rounds by Thompson.
Well Merry Christmas to ya all and to all a good night! figured I'd do a little bragging hope ya don't mind.
