A Can of Worms... CCW in 9mm you thoughts

I have the Glock 26, pf-9 and got rid of the rest. They both have a purpose, the pf-9 is half the weight. But my new favorite is the 740 slim. It weighs less than the Glock and is as thin as the keltec, plus it takes packs a stronger punch, the 709 is ok also for a 9mm pistol, I just got done looking at Brass fetchers charts, and the difference between the 9 and 40 is pretty impressive. Meanwhile the 380 to the 9mm not that huge. I just picked up that 26 or I would have gone with a 27, Last time I did that I didn't like the way it twisted, when firing. So I went to a 23, but that still had that tendancy, even though it was larger. The taurus dosen't do that for some reason. Maybe it's just the manufacturing methods. But it tends to snap but not twist. But if you only can get one pistol, get the Glock 26.

I'm looking for a small,thin,light,but powerful 9mm concealed carry.

Since you said you own a Springfield XD, then you'll better recognize the difference between this XD9 and the Kahr PM9, which I now carry all the time. It is small, thin, light, and powerful enough. My carry rounds clock 1152 FPS out of that 4" XD9 and 1017 FPS out of the 3" PM9.

Just switched from a LCP to a Kahr PM 9. Night and day. The little Kahr is what I've been searching for. It's that good.

arizona98tj.. That is the best picture to really see the difference in size. Thanks for the great pictures. I will be going to the houston gun show this weekend and will handle all my front runners but unless the PM9 just doesn't feel right I am pretty sure it will be my next purchase.

I had considered the Glock 26 to become my carry gun. I like just about everything about it, and think it's an extremely good gun, but I think it would be too wide for me. I also considered the Kel Tec PF9, but it looks too snappy in videos I've seen of it fired. There's also the Ruger LC9. It looks decent, but I'm not interested in owning one. Frame safety, key lock safety, magazine safety, and that huge "loaded chamber" indicator? No thanks. I want a gun, not a lawyer with a trigger. If none of the issues of these guns are problems for you, you might consider them.

P7PSP.

That is my primary carry gun. Accurate, steel, reliable and it makes a heck of a beater stick once you run it dry. Very well made and solid guns.

Sig Sauer P238 I got my wife a couple months ago that she carries in her purse; I was absolutely shocked at what a great shooter it is for being so small, great little piece. I've fired a couple of .380 pocket pistols, the LCP and the Keltec, and there is no comparison between these pistols and the238. One glance down the sights and it's pretty obvious; for me, you cannot beat a 1911 style pistol for the way they point and how thin they are, even in .45. I have a hard time carrying anything else...

i used to carry a 9mm Browing High Power (past 20 years or so CCW every day) without an extra clip, now (past 10 months) I carry exclusivley my Springfield XD in 45 ACP. Yes, it is a little bit big but I carry on a belt holster and wear a tee shirt and long sleeve light shirt unbuttoned to cover it when it gets too hot to wear a cover coat.

I have and carry a M&Pc 9mm everyday. Like you I live in a very hot climate and appreciate a smaller, lighter and more concealable pistol.
I absolutly love this pistol for alot of reasons.
-great ergonomics(this one could differ for you, as we all have different body types)
-great trigger(for a stock, striker-fired DAO pistol)
-soft shooting with almost no muzzle rise(infact softest shooting sub-compact i've ever fired)
-100% reliable(so far only has alittle over 1,000rds of assorted ammo through it)
-very accurate
Great gun and one I would suggest you consider in your search. Good Luck

Someone needs to make a copy of the star 1911 style in 9mm.

Smaller size, same function.
I've got one of those... it's a great size and, on me anyway, conceals about as well as my S&W 637 AIWB.
