Ok, I have already asked a few and here comes a few more.
1. What is a better optics choice, Eotech Reddot or Leopold Prismatic Scope?
2. If it is chambered for .223 Rem, can I shoot 5.56x45 Rem out of it?
3. Does the front sight come off of the following rifle?
4. Is the following rifle a good rifle?

5. Anything else you want to throw in for a first time AR buyer?

1. Not familiar with the Leupold model, but sounds more like a scope than a reflex sight, which is what the Eotech is. I have an Eotech 512 on one of mine and it works great. If you want to shoot beyond 100 yards, I'd say get some magnification so you can see a bit better.

2. You should not shoot 5.56x45 out of .223 Remington barrel. However, you can shoot .223 out of a 5.56 barrel.

3. Front sight serves as a gas block to move gas from the barrel through a tube to cycle the bolt carrier. It can be removed and replaced, but it is not a simple one minute operation.

4. It's a good one if you are target shooting, plinking, or whatever. If you want it for SHTF, I'd suggest a Colt, Noveske, or Lewis Machine and Tool AR. For the money, the DPMS is a good buy.

1. aimpoint
2. you're not supposed to, but catastrophic failures are unlikely. see ammo-oracle.com (5.56 is a NATO, not Rem)
3. it might, but it's not supposed to.
4. depends on what you're going to use it for. dpms is a good company with good service and they make a great gun for service rifle matches. their M4 offering leaves a lot to be desired. cmmg's M4 is a ton more bang for the buck, as is stag and others

5. you get what you pay for

1) Not sure, no personal experience with these optics on this platform.
2) 223 can be fired from a 5.56x45 chamber, but it is not recommended to fire 5.56x45 from a 223 chamber.
3) On the particular rifle you are linking to, NO. Just the carry handle is, although you could have a picatinny rail gas block with a removable sight installed.
4) Yes, Bushmaster, DPMS, Armalite, and such makers market decent rifles. Most decision making comes from difficulty of dealing with customer service of said rifle you want to buy.
5) Be sure that the rifle you get has 5.56x45 on the receiver and not just 223.

(5.56 is a NATO, not Rem)

Not saying your wrong, because I don't know, but the page I linked to specifically says 5.54x45 Rem

6. Will the front sight interfere with using optics (specifically the eotech and leupold prismatic)

As to the 5.56x45 question, it has a higher chamber pressure than the 223 which is said to pose a serious hazard to the shooter should the chamber become over-pressured.
6) Just from my observation and conjecture, I would say YES. Maybe a riser rail would have to be used to get the optics to clear the front sight.

no, the front sight won't interfere*.

*it won't be visible at all through a magnified scope; it will be completely visible but not a problem with a red dot

Get a riser mount for an EOTech such as a Larue or EOTech Dominator2. That'll put your irons in the bottom 1/3rd of the window. You can mount it naked on the rail as many do. I do prefer the Dominator mount as it acts as both a riser-style mount and also has a dual aperture rear BUIS with easily adjustable windage/elevation.

Do some more homework before you dive into a DPMS - surf some forums - ask a lot of questions, do some searches. I'm not saying DPMS is a wrong choice, but there many who support that it's not necessarily a right one either - you can do better.

As to sights, it depends on your purpose. If you're leaning in the red dot direction, you owe it to yourself to look at a Trijicon Tripower. Aimpoints and Eotechs are awesome and popular, but it doesn't necessarily make them better... ;)

I'm not affiliated with nor do I work for Jon at Anvil Arms, but I have dealt with him enough to trust him with my build. For the money you're willing to spend on that DPMS, Anvil Arms could build you a killer rifle with chrome bore and chamber, M4 feed ramps and enough Military grade parts to make you giddy - plus a design of your choice etched into the receiver if you wish.
My advice keep looking, or give Jon a look see... www.anvilarms.com

RancidSumo Ok, I have already asked a few and here comes a few more.
1. What is a better optics choice, Eotech Reddot or Leopold Prismatic Scope?

I researched and shopped for a new AR and chose the LE 6920 from Colt.
I like the EOTech out front on a rail, but an Aimpoint Micro-T would be nice for close in work...

1. What is a better optics choice, Eotech Reddot or Leopold Prismatic Scope?

Both are good but it's a personal choice. If possible, go to your local giant sporting goods retailer and try them out.

2. If it is chambered for .223 Rem, can I shoot 5.56x45 Rem out of it?

You can, but it is not recommended. There is a chance of very dangerous pressures. IIRC, DPMS chambers their stainless barrels in .223, the rest are 5.56. Some manufacturers label their barrels .223 but they are really 5.56. Always e-mail them to be sure.

3. Does the front sight come off of the following rifle?

No, at least not without tools. And if you did remove it, you'd be removing the gas block too since they are integrated on that rifle.

4. Is the following rifle a good rifle?
It's good, but it's not the best in terms of quality or value. IMHO, Stag and CMMG are better choices in this price range. I own a Stag 3.

5. Anything else you want to throw in for a first time AR buyer?

Look at Stag and CMMG. If you want an M4gery, a Stag 2 is fine. If you want no sights, get a Stag 3. The Stag 3 has a railed gas block if you want a front sight. CMMG makes just about everything in all kinds of configurations. Bushmaster is good too, but I think they are often overpriced. S&W is another option, especially with the $100 rebate they're currently offering. S&W has awesome customer service too.

6. Will the front sight interfere with using optics (specifically the eotech and leupold prismatic)
Depends on the optic, but, you may see it. That doesn't necessarily mean it "interferes." Check Arfcom for "co-witnessing".

*it won't be visible at all through a magnified scope; it will be completely visible but not a problem with a red dot

Many people who use reflex sights (like H2O MAN) choose to cowittness their iron sights and the optic. If the battery dies, you jus keep shooting with the sights.

Like I said I don't know hardly anything about AR type guns so would someone be willing to help me configure a rifle from this company?
Prefered Options- 16" Barrel
Flat Top
Some form of iron sights (dont care as long as they won't interfere with mounting optics later)

Ussage- Mostly range use and prarie dog "hunting"

Also, anyone know how much they charge for the laser engraving? Their website says that they do family crests and I think that would be cool.

Maybe so, but it works like a charm

ckay Quicker target acquisition than mounting on the receiver right?

Correct!

I also like it out there because it duplicates the position I mount the EOTech on my MK14 SEI Mod 1.
Familiarity is a good thing

Time for a few more.

7. If I buy a 5.56 AR, can I later get an upper in a different calliber and swap them out?

8. If #7 is possible, how hard is it to swap them out?

9. If #7 is possible and #8 is easy, would a 6.8 Rem or 6.5 Grendel be a good second choice? (or mabey even first choice but probably not do to ammo supply)

It is possible and very easy. If I was going to go with a different caliber I would go with 6.8 SPC.

10. How hard is it to assemble your own out of a complete lower and complete upper?

Two pins, punch them out, take off upper, put on new upper, push pins back in. Your also going to need to get different mags for the different calibers. If your working with complete uppers, its that easy.

As far as I know you can get uppers in 22 (possible 17), 223, 5.56, 7.62X39, 6.5, 6.8, 9mm, 45acp, and also the venerable 50BMG. To swap out calibers, assuming you have the BCG, just unpinning the upper and changing out. Some conversions also require changing out the hammer, like the 50 BMG. 9mm and 45 also need special mags or inserts to use readily available surplus mags. Hope this helps. The above mentioned conversions are by NO means all that are available, just some of the more popular ones.

good luck on your AR! +1 on the 6.8 spc! an aimpoint optic would be my choice, just because you get extremely long battery life. The batteries are more durable in extreme weather. the DPMS is a good first AR in my opinion. Its inexpensive yet still good quality, youll find that even if your completely satisified with your DPMS, youll prolly buy a few more anyway, so many different options, so take the plunge, and enjoy!
