A pair of Swedish babes

I was giddy when I saw the BadAce mount and bought it immediately. I love my old milsurp guns, but my aging eyesight prevents me from using irons reliably. I was about to buy a modern 6.5x55 bolt action until I found it. I hope it works well.

I remember buying 96’s like new at a LGS for $125

That's what I paid for mine about 20 years ago. It's been a great rifle. I've won several club vintage military matches and a bunch of gold's at Camp Perry in my younger days.

I love the concept of no drill scope mounts for these old classics.

Mmmm, nice! I do love me some Swedish steel.

My Svenska tvillingar are considerably more petite (and older), but still pretty sexy looking when dressed up in the right holster:

I've also got one of the older relatives to your rifles:

As a Americanized Dane, it pains me to admit Svenskar är snygga.

I purchased a 38 that was Bubba’ed ..for $50 … had it D&T’ed barrel bobbed to 17 inches .. low scope safety .. cheap synthetic stock .. 1.5 fixed powered scope .. … one of the handiest carbines .. took several bucks with it using 160 gr fodder …
Traded to a fellow who used it to bear hunt

Those are beautiful! I have a sweet spot for Swedish Mauser. I only have one; a 1908 M96 but I love shooting her.

There's not a lot of literature in English about the "other Nagants", but C&Rsenal covered them pretty thoroughly:

Thanks for that link.

A little off topic here, but the C&Rsenal videos are great. Here's one I found very interesting where they "tested" several machine guns from the WWI era. The Lewis looks like an outstanding gun of the era. Some of the others look pretty bad.

Interesting.
Fun to read fiction by knowledgeable authors.
Steve Stirling had his mechanically inclined heroine remodel the Lewis gun, drawing a 50 cent royalty per gun upgraded, a dollar for new manufacture. Best I can tell, she pretty much turned it into a M60.
Tom Kratman and co. had a German ordnance officer say the MP18's Luger drum was a kluge, that he had a design for a box magazine version but no way to put it in production. (Which was really done later as the MP28.)
