What do you call a license to carry firearms on or about a person in a concealed manner?

In Utah, it's a CFP. I wish they would change the name because so many of the LEOs here think that because it has "Concealed" in the name, that it requires you to conceal even though open-carry is perfectly legal. That's like saying that you can't walk anywhere once you get a drivers license. It is getting better, though.

i don't think it should be called anything, it should be done away with entirely in favor of carry open/concealed without any permit.

In PA (where I live and work) it's a LTCF. Personally when I type it out I always write CCW but when I say it out loud I always say "conceal carry permit." Too many gunshots have scrambled my last remaining brain cells...

There appears to numerous accepted generic names, and each State has its own name for the permit. Looking in my wallet I see that Nevada calls it a "Concealed Weapons Permit", Oregon calls it a "Concealed Handgun License", Nevada calls it a "Concealed Firearm Permit", and Utah also calls it a "Concealed Firearm Permit."

Here's the granddaddy of them all:
License To Carry Concealed Firearm Pistol Handgun Deadly Weapon Permit
LTCCFPHDWP

In CT it's called a License to Carry Pistols and Revolvers.

Since LCPR sounds absurd and nobody on this forum would understand what I was talking about, I just call it a CCW and be done with it.
