Have you had the desire to buy a rifle that you have no use for?

I have the overwhelming desire to buy a something immense, a 338 Lapua at the top end or a 300 Remington Ultra at the bottom. The Remington Ultra is actually affordable.

I don't hunt and the closest 1000 yard range is hours from me. A 100 yard range is down the road....my road.

I have a press that can reload either, a Corbin swage press.

I have the desire, but my desire to buy rifles I have use for, outweighs the desire to buy ones I have no use for.

I will say I have strong desires to buy rifles I have use for, but for which I already have plenty of rifles that already fill those niches.

I already have gobs of .22 LRs for squirrel hunting, but I want a few more CZ bolt actions in .22 LR
I already have a .22 WMR for groundhogs where I can't hunt with a centerfire, but I want a .17HMR....preferably CZ

I already have a .22-250 CZ Varmint for groundhogs, but I want a .204 Ruger in Remington VLS, and would like a .223 possibly CZ 527 and/or Remington SPS Varmint or Mossberg MVP

I already have a Winchester 94 30-30 for open woods/open sight deer hunting, but I would like a Winchester 92 and or Marlin 1894 in .45 Colt

I already have several scoped bolt actions in .30-06, .30-30 and 8x57 but I want a CZ 550 in 6.5x55, a Ruger M77 in 7mm-08, a Winchester M70 Supergrade in .270 Win a Tikka T3 Hunter in maybe .243 a T/C Icon Classic and a Weatherby Vanguard.

Sure, I'd like a .300 RUM, or a .338 Lapua, but I want all of that above even more.

I'd like a Winchester 1886 in .45-70 as well...at least I could use that for Whitetail as well, even if it is way overpower.

My desires for rifles I have no use for actually stop at just that, luckily. I don't have the funds to go buying them, nor the time to sell them off when I come to my senses.

My latest mental pet project has been a suppressed, SBR'ed, gas-les AR-15 upper in .300BLK. The cost of the parts, shop tools I would need to modify them, reloading equipment, suppressor, and two tax stamps. . . . . At least it's a fun mental exercise.

Hello friends and neighbors // I'm looking at a BSA /Martini ,Military from 1886, no need at all just looks cool and has history.

My big problem are .22 rifles.
I can't pass on a good bargin, even bought a cracked stock, buldged barrel Remington 510 ...beacuse it was $25.00.
It does still shoot straight but the only thing nice is the walnut stock and it is cracked.

I have no idea how many .22s are in the safes but that won't stop me from buying another if the mood strikes and the price is right.
Same with BB guns no need for another but they keep popping up at yard sales.

I will go to Africa in the next few years but only for plains game. I still would REALLY like to have a nice .416Rigby boltgun and/or a Ruger #1 in .450/.400NE.

A Ruger #1 in 9.3x74R

I might someday actually get a #1 International in 7x57 as that would be of real use in the Wisconsin woods. But for whatever reason, that old 9.3 strikes a chord with me.

Considering all I do with a rifle is target shoot, I guess the .22 bolt action I got as a kid takes care of that, and the six I've bought since are all extranious.

Well, the Mosin is vaguely a concrete history lesson. So there is that.

I keep trying and trying to find a good use for an AR. The dang things just don't do anything that I need a rifle to do. They are a pain to carry in the field and as far as home defense goes I've got better stuff to use.

Most of my rifles and shotguns.

Have a longlever Martini 577-450 and a Martini Cadet. Both obsolete cartridges.

Yep, so did I. No plans to go to Africa, I picked up a .416 Rigby - a Ruger #1 Tropical .
No plans to hunt plains game or larger bears, I picked up a Model 70 in .375 H&H.
And so on...and on....
No use? What does that mean anyway?
Pete

I have no use for an AR of any caliber, as I have other rifles that I prefer to carry in the field, hunt with, and also prefer the ergonomics in general.

No real need for 5.56mm, come to think of it.

I always wanted to build a mid length AR for the wife, but she prefers other rifles as well.

I really want a double barrel 10 gauge shotgun. No need for it, but I want it. Old West style, with looooong barrels. Same reason why I want to put a bigger engine into my Mustang. I want it. Bigger is better.

I own several guns capable of being used in Africa for dangerous game...do I need them in Indiana? Well I am close to Peru Indiana which is known as the Circus Capital of the US and rogue elephants could break out....

I'm beginning to feel really bad for those of you with useless rifles and I'm going to help every single one of you. Just box them up and send them my way so they're no longer a burden to you. I'll pay the shipping.

No use for? I shoot all mine at the range, so I use them. Impractical? Yeah, an AK in 5.56 NATO when I already own two AR-15s.

H&H, I have ideas for you on how to carry an AR. Having read many of your posts, I know you've been there, done that. For that reason, I'm curious as to what you consider better for HD. I know better is subjective, but I'm always open to reading reasoned opinions on why someone thinks something is better.
