A thought ran through my head.

Tonight I talked to the miss about maybe me getting a cupple of extra plastic boxes "the kind that many of us use for fishing gear" & cast bullets/balls & sinkers to fill them & then maybe selling some off on the net like here or abroad.

My thoughts aren't to really make any real profit but just to maybe break even on the surplus & what not.

What do you guys think?

My Muzzleloading castings are of:
.457 144gr. ball
.495 182gr. ball
.530 224gr. ball
.516 320gr. Lee R.E.A.L. bullet
.456 220gr. Lee Conical C&B bullet

My Sinker castings are of:
1-2-3-4-5 ounce Bank
1/16 - 1/8 ounce split shot NR

I was mostly thinking of the Ball & sinker production as a sellable item like maybe $8.00 per 100 in the round balls & maybe $8.00 for 2LB of sinkers plus a flat shipping fee.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like you are selling to a thin margin of people who shoot the old smokepoles but dont cast for themselves. The question is how many people is that?

Also consider the lead exposure and what comes with it.

That's great, especially the prices because casting is a lot of work, and sometimes folks like to try out projectiles that they don't own molds for.
But I think that it's important to let a buyer know if the lead content of the muzzle loading projectiles is "pure" or not.

Good points.

I use only Adhesive Wheel weights which is 98% pure Lead & what I have left of my supply of Plumbers Lead but I know what you mean about knowing the content of the product.
